About Me

I build technology that survives the real world

I am a certified IoT specialist and Electronics Engineer from the National University of Science and Technology. My work is driven by tangible and practical impact that always outweigh purely theoretical knowledge. I don’t just write code or draft schematics; I am a problem-solver who designs, develops, and implements robust technical solutions from the ground up.

Growing up in Chibuwe Village, Chimanimani, taught me that technology must be resilient to be useful. I specialize in the convergence of embedded electronic systems, power networks, and edge-AI to build tools that survive and thrive in the real world. Whether it is deploying machine learning models onto physical microcontroller gateways or engineering sustainable, inclusive solutions for communities and heavy industries, my focus is on solving actual, on-the-ground challenges.

Beyond the workbench, I am an active member of the Zimbabwe Institution of Engineers and a trained public speaker who knows how to translate complex technical architecture into clear, actionable business strategies. I approach system design with the strategic foresight of a competitive chess player, always anticipating the next several moves.

Have an innovative venture or you are just looking for a co-founder? I am always exploring collaborations on disruptive, high-impact projects. If you have the vision, I have the technical stack to build it. Let’s connect.

    Hackathon Winner

    1st Place: Llama 3.1 Impact Pan-African Hackathon

As Team Leader (mentored by Godwin Jimmy Akpabio), I led our team to first place out of 19 teams at the AfriLabs hackathon, backed by Meta and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, with "Ithute AI", an educational AI tool built to widen access to learning across Africa. We are now scaling the project under AfriLabs and BMGF funding.

    Leadership Program

    SUSI Global Student Leaders Program

Represented Zimbabwe as one of four selected participants in the Study of the U.S. Institute (SUSI) for Student Leaders on Civic Engagement, funded by the U.S. Department of State. Across four intensive weeks in Seattle and Atlanta I engaged with engineers, policymakers, nonprofit leaders, and community organisers, from tech spaces and city halls to corporate boardrooms, sharpening a solution-oriented approach to leadership. I carried those lessons home through the SUSI Mini-Grant community project "Musimboti".

Indimi

System Designer · 2026 National AI for Impact (AI4I) Challenge

Featured

Design Track Champion at Zimbabwe's 2026 AI for Impact Challenge, hosted by POTRAZ. Indimi is an AI-powered decision-making tool for local government and public systems that breaks 'stable' national averages down to reveal exactly where minority-language users are being left behind, then generates evidence-cited policy interventions across 6 languages: English, chiShona, isiNdebele, Tshivenda, Chichewa, and Xitsonga.

  • Selected from 738 nationwide applications down to 60 bootcamp finalists, then one of only 16 overall challenge winners, after a six-day residential bootcamp in Mutare.
  • Built fully inclusive to WCAG 2.1 AA standards, with integrated text-to-speech and high-contrast modes for users with visual impairments.
  • Won a $12,000 prize package ($7,000 in AI compute from Econet Wireless, $5,000 implementation grant), now incubating through the POTRAZ Innovation Drive at the National Innovation Acceleration Centre (NIAC).

Gwenya

beVisioneers: Mercedes-Benz Fellowship Project

Featured

As a selected beVisioneers: Mercedes-Benz Fellow, a global initiative funded by Mercedes-Benz and implemented by The DO School, I'm taking Gwenya from a conceptual prototype to a community-centered reality: an integrated IoT and AI-driven energy management solution built to protect assets and promote financial transparency in volatile energy systems.

  • Edge AI Protection: on-device ML models predict power surges and grid instabilities, automatically isolating sensitive appliances before damage occurs.
  • Real-time Monetary Translation: a mobile dashboard converts raw energy consumption (kWh) into local currency (ZiG/USD) for instant financial literacy.
  • Conflict Resolution for Shared Spaces: a data-driven fair-split accounting tool for small retailers in partitioned markets, ending billing disputes with transparent, per-device consumption tracking.

AI BRIDGE

AI Consultant, African Technology Innovation Hubs Initiative, AfriLabs (Nigeria) · Aug 2025 – May 2026

Following our win at the Llama 3.1 Impact Pan-African Hackathon in Kigali, I continued as an AI Consultant with AfriLabs' African Technology Innovation Hubs Initiative, contributing to the design and implementation of an AI Bias Reduction and Inclusive Data Generation Engine (AI BRIDGE), developing gender-aware, linguistically inclusive AI models for African languages. This work builds directly on Ithute AI, our multilingual, personalised learning tool that leverages Meta's LLaMA 3.1 model to deliver localised, bias-free educational support to African learners through their social spaces.

  • Co-designed a Gender Sanitization Engine: a post-generation AI layer that detects and corrects gender bias in model outputs before they reach end users.
  • Curated and validated multilingual datasets for underrepresented Southern African languages, including Setswana, isiZulu, and isiNdebele.
